Business Segment/ Overview:

wear-resistant surfaces for piers and quaysides, reducing abrasion and protecting both the structure and vessel hull. Complementing these are steel structures such as fender panels, chains, anchors, and brackets custom-engineered for each application to ensure optimaShibataFenderTeam AG (SFT) specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of high-performance marine fender systems, tailored to meet the demanding needs of modern port infrastructure and vessel operations. The company’s product portfolio is segmented into several core categories, starting with rubber fenders, which include molded and extruded types such as Cone Fenders, Cell Fenders, Arch Fenders, and Cylindrical Fenders. These are widely used in port terminals, container berths, and bulk handling facilities due to their proven durability and energy absorption capacity. Additionally, foam fenders typically used for ship-to-ship operations, offshore platforms, and military applications are constructed from high-performance, closed-cell polyethylene foam, offering unsinkable, maintenance-free solutions with excellent energy absorption-to-reaction force ratios.
Beyond these, SFT also provides pneumatic fenders, known for their flexibility and portability, making them ideal for temporary berthing facilities, emergency deployments, and offshore moorings. The company manufactures HD-PE Sliding Fenders, which serve as low-friction,l system performance. This comprehensive product range positions ShibataFenderTeam as a full-solution provider in the marine fender industry, capable of delivering customized, reliable systems for virtually every berthing scenario worldwide.

Product Description

Donut Fender

Product Description:

The Donut Fender is a specific type of Foam Fenders. It is designed to simply slip over a stationary monopile. Due to its construction, the fender floats up and down with the fluctuating water levels and rotates when vessels berth and slide along the fender. The Donut Fender is designed with a 100% closed cell cross-linked polyethylene foam core, a reinforced elastomeric skin and low friction pads at the internal steel core.

Donut Fenders are available in diameters from 1,270 mm to 4,220 mm and a maximum pile diameter of 610 mm to 2,388 mm. Additionally, mooring crowns, counterweights (for sub-marine applications) or other features like protective nettings can be added.

The foam hardness, skin thickness, pile/fender diameter and also the height of the fender can be changed on request. ShibataFenderTeam would be pleased to receive your design input allowing us to engineer the correct type, size and overall layout of the Donut Fender.

Donut Fender Characteristics

Proportional load deflection curve

Low shear forces

Self-adjusting to changing water levels

Low installation costs

Generally maintenance free

Individual drafts can be controlled by counterweights

Donut Fender Applications

Locks and dry dock entrances, corner protection, turning dolphins, areas with large tidal variations or bridge protections

Other monopile structures

Submarine jetties

Corner V Fenders (PU/Rubber)

Product Description:

The Corner V Fender (Rubber) is a single one-piece V Fender with a 90° angle. They are typically used for exposed corners and turning dolphins to minimize ship damages during berthing maneuver.

Optionally Corner V Fenders can be supplied in PU instead of rubber to reduce friction and increase visibility. Corner V Fenders (PU/Rubber) are available in different sizes and angles. Additionally, a wide range of Corner Fenders can be supplied in individual shapes, sizes and colors.

Corner Fender Characteristics

Protect exposed corners

Simple design and easy to install

Customized design available

Highly visible as colored PU option

Available in PU and rubber

Corner Fender Applications:

Berth corners

Turning dolphins

Locks and dry dock entrances

Pier heads
