TAWI AB was established in 1923 as Tage Wiberg Limited Company. Originally it was a manufacturing company within the Swedish steel industry.

In the 1940’s the company was acquired by Gunnebo, one of the largest competitors at the time. Folke Wilhelmsson "became manager.

In 1989 Convacor, manufacturer of VacuMyggan vacuum lifter, was acquired. TAWI launched the vacuum lifter on the international market, starting the journey to become the market leader in manual lifting equipment. Further, Protema and Lyftman were acquired in 1997, adding lifting trolleys and crane systems to the product range.

Since January 2020, TAWI has been part of the Piab group.

TAWI products are distributed through a worldwide network of distributors, and Piab offices in the US and Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, China, Brazil, and Australia.

The control is quickly adjusted from the right to the left side of the handle to suit left- or right-handed users.

A swivel integrated into both the top and bottom of the tube lifter allows you to rotate the goods and not the lifter, ensuring high precision.
