Market Position/ History

MacArtney Group’s journey began on May 1st, 1978, when founder Martin MacArtney and his wife Winnie started their business from their home, initially focusing on distributing cables and connectors for offshore use. As the demand for more comprehensive underwater systems grew, MacArtney expanded its offerings, leading to the establishment of its first workshop in 1982. Over time, the company broadened its scope, forming strategic partnerships to enhance its portfolio, notably with ASME in 1997. By 2008, MacArtney secured partial ownership of ASME, and in 2017, the company fully acquired ASME, which was subsequently rebranded as MacArtney Manufacturing. This acquisition marked a significant milestone, enhancing MacArtney’s capabilities in the marine and offshore sectors.

Simultaneously, MacArtney expanded its expertise by acquiring Klinkby Maskinfabrik in 2017, which became MacArtney Hydraulics, specializing in bespoke hydraulic cylinders for industrial and offshore applications. In 2021, the company further solidified its position in the market by establishing MacArtney Offshore Wind Solutions, focusing specifically on the growing offshore wind industry. With over 40 years of experience in underwater technology, MacArtney combines its mechanical design and automation expertise to provide innovative solutions, securing its future growth and expansion in the global underwater technology sector.
