Business Segment or Overview
- DOF Group operates across several interconnected segments, each aligned with specific aspects of the offshore energy and subsea service industries. One of the core segments is the Subsea Services Segment, primarily driven by the activities of the DOF Subsea Group. This segment encompasses subsea engineering and project-specific services, often involving a combination of owned and chartered vessels, project-related equipment, and a range of associated subsea operations. A large portion of these operations fall within the Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair (IMR) category. These IMR projects are executed across key regions, including the Atlantic, Asia-Pacific, and North America. In 2024, the majority of DOF’s eligible projects—those aligned with sustainable economic activities under the EU Climate Delegated Act—were carried out within this subsea segment, including projects in renewable energy and decommissioning.
- Another important area is Marine Operations, which refers to the management of DOF’s fleet engaged under Time Charter contracts with clients in the conventional offshore energy industry. These operations are centered in regions such as the North Sea, Asia-Pacific, Canada, and Brazil. The Time Charter model enables clients to utilize DOF vessels flexibly, based on their evolving offshore operational requirements. This segment supports a variety of offshore activities and plays a key role in maintaining continuous vessel deployment and utilization.
- To better align with its strategic focus and to enhance reporting clarity, DOF Group restructured its segment reporting effective from 1 January 2023. The updated structure reflects both functional responsibilities and geographic coverage. The DOF Subsea Group remains a primary unit, handling subsea engineering and shipowning and includes DOF’s 50% stake in the DOFCON joint venture. DOF Rederi is dedicated to shipowning, including a special purpose company (SPC) that owns the vessel Skandi Iceman. Norskan Offshore Ltda, based in Brazil, focuses on shipowning and vessel management. A new entity, DOF Denmark, was incorporated into the segment structure from 1 November 2024 and is similarly engaged in shipowning and vessel management. Additionally, a corporate and vessels management segment provides overarching administrative and operational support across the Group, ensuring coherence and strategic alignment among all business units.
