Market Position or History |
In 1964, establishment of the public limited company Balta nv. The name came through the surname of the founder BALcaen and the dutch word for carpets, TApijt creating BALTA. In 1977, the company expanded its operation with the establishment of Ideco nv (Imperial Decoration Company) in Tielt for the production of wall coverings. In 1997, the company started new company IVC (International Vinyl Company) in Avelgem. In 2002, the company established Balta US, a North American distribution centre in Dalton, USA. Since June 2017, Balta Group has been a public company listed on Euronext Brussels. |

Business Segment/ Overview
Balta has 9 production sites worldwide, 6 of which are located in Belgium, 1 in Los Angeles, USA, 2 in U?ak, Turkey, and distribution centres in Rome, USA and Savannah, USA, serving the North American market. Balta has four reporting segments:
• Rugs: woven and tufted area rugs, under the Balta home brand.
• Residential: wall-to-wall carpet and carpet tiles for private use, through the brands Balta carpets, ITC and Balta carpet tiles.
• Commercial: wall-to-wall carpet and carpet tiles for commercial use under the brands arc edition, Bentley and modulyss.
• Non-Woven: needle felt, carpet backing and technical non-wovens under the Captiqs brand.
Their traditional core markets include the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and they have a significant presence in Central and Eastern Europe.
