What is Lubricant?
Lubricant is a material that is used to minimize friction between surfaces in contact. It is also used for Power dissemination, heat control, and security against dust. It helps to minimize oxidation and protect against corrosion. Lubricants are majorly used for industrial purposes. Other than Industrial applications, it is used for so many other purposes like Cooking, Oil, and fat is used in cooking to prevent food sticking from to the frying pan, bio application of a human, and medical examination.
Lubricant is used for making garage door lubricant, the Water-based lubricants are used in personal or medical settings to reduce friction and improve viscosity during invasive procedures.
Lubricants typically include 90% of base oil and fewer than 10% of additives. Base oils can be synthetic liquids like silicones, esters, fluorocarbons, hydrogenated polyolefins, and many others or vegetable oils. Higher viscosity, enhanced viscosity index, minimize friction, opposition to oxidation and corrosion, aging or contamination, and other benefits are provided by additives.
Growing demand from the construction sector –
The Government of Egypt has made a crucial investment in the construction sector. The construction sector is growing in the previous ten years in Egypt. Water-based lubricants are used to reduce friction. The government is primarily focused on the construction of roads, especially railroads. Lubricant help to protect construction equipment and reduces their maintenance cost. It improves the reliability and efficiency of machinery by minimizing corrosion, rust, heat, contamination, and friction. It is also used for enhancing temperature control of the machinery.
Growing demand for engine oil-
Egypt's automobile sector has been growing for the past 50 years. It is presently Africa's second-biggest market and the world's 42nd-largest. Hence it is impacting more engine oil sales. Engine oil is used to eliminate friction and excessive power loss. A properly oiled engine uses fuel more efficiently and thus performs better. The production of passenger cars is increasing in a country resulting in more engine oil consumption. Thus, the increasing demand for engine oil is boosting the growth of the lubricant market.
The decline in the sales of new vehicles-
Auto sales in Egypt are reduced by 78.4% compared to February 2022. Russia- Ukraine war, the abutment of the national currency, and the US dollar appreciating against the Egyptian pound are reasons for increasing the price of a new car. Thus, increasing car prices resulted in a decrease in sales of new cars. hence the demand for silicone lubricants and garage door lubricants is decreasing.
Development in the Infrastructure and automobile sector is the major driving factor for market growth. The use of Paraffin oil in many industries increases the demand. Technological advancement in the construction and automobile industry in expanding the market. The increase in demand for wind energy, and engine oil is resulted positively in the market. Power Generation to Experience Profitable Growth in the Egypt lubricant market.
