Biocon signs deal with Biomm SA to commercialise diabetes drug in Brazil
Semaglutide (gOzempic), an Indian medication used to treat type-2 diabetes in adults, has been commercialised by Biocon Limited under an exclusive licencing and supply deal with Biomm SA of Brazil. Biomm will secure regulatory permission and begin commercialization in Brazil, while Biocon will manage the development, production, and supply of the pharmaceutical products. In Brazil, the semaglutide addressable market is estimated to be worth $580 million. The collaboration fits with Biocon's growth plan of introducing sophisticated GLP-1 medication-device combo products to the market and is a component of the company's plan to increase its worldwide footprint outside of the US and Europe. The mission of Biomm, a company dedicated to the development, production, and marketing of biotech and biosimilar pharmaceutical products, is to improve the lives of Brazilians with diabetes by offering cutting-edge treatments.
