China has started work on a floating train which would be faster than a commercial passenger aircraft

A "floating" train that would be quicker than a commercial passenger plane has begun construction in China. The goal is to accelerate the development of more intelligent, faster, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient trains.
The new design would enable travel at 621 mph (1,000 kmph), which is more than 400 mph faster than the present speed of China's high-speed trains (217 mph). However, a long-haul commercial passenger aircraft's typical cruising speed falls between 547 and 575 miles per hour.
From the Changsha Nan station, located just west of the airport in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan, the so-called Maglev Train will depart from the current 11.5-mile Maglev Express Line S2. In China, one such train already runs, taking just seven minutes to get from the airport to the city center of Shanghai, the country's largest metropolis.

Scania and Fortescue collaborate to develop autonomous mining road train

A fully integrated autonomous road train solution will be developed and validated in collaboration with Scania and the Australian company Fortescue. The mining business is changing globally, and there is an increasing focus on autonomous solutions. Due to the rapid advancement of sustainability-related technologies, tackling the difficulties with a sustainable perspective is now possible.
According to Manfred Streit, Managing Director at Scania Australia, the Road Train solution would lessen the overall mining impact by utilizing Scania's vast experience in providing trucks to the mining industry and our proficiency in autonomous driving. Fortescue's iron ore facilities in Christmas Creek, Queensland, will serve as the collaborative site for the development, testing, and validation of the autonomous solution. The autonomous solution will be connected with Fortescue's Fleet Management System (FMS), which is intended to maximize fleet utilization and productivity while guaranteeing efficient fuel and energy use to lower carbon emissions. Scania's truck automation technology makes this possible. The system will also have three 120-ton trailers with a 240-ton payload capacity, as well as Scania's onboard autonomous hardware and technologies for the Scania R770 prime mover platform.
