India unlocking the potential of floating solar power
With floating solar technology, India can install 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2070. By using this technology, evaporation losses are decreased and water resources are preserved by mounting solar panels on floating structures over bodies of water. India has the ability to produce 280–300 GW of floating solar power, however states like Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Bihar, and Rajasthan have built only a small portion of this capacity. India should establish specific goals, encourage the production of floating solar equipment, and fund feasibility studies in order to hasten adoption. Floating solar installations have the potential to contribute to a better future for future generations as costs come down and technology advances enhance efficiency.
