Introduction to Robotic Palletizers
A robotic palletizer is a type of palletizer that employs a robotic arm to pick, orient, and place individual products and arrange them into a single stack of load. They will replace traditional palletizers as the next generation of palletizers. In some applications, their advantages—lower capital costs, adaptability, and multitasking capabilities—make them the best option. However, they are unable to fully replace traditional palletizers due to their lack of ruggedness, speed, and tolerance for product dimensions. Robotic palletizers use the idea of unit load, just like any other kind of palletizer. The assemblage of items combined for effective handling is referred to as a unit load. Moving a single, large unit is more efficient and cost-effective than moving multiple smaller, individual things. Finished goods are not made to be handled and transported in separate pieces. Pallets or roll cages are used to support the assembled unit after these are often arranged into boxes, cases, trays, and crates. These later ones are known as tertiary unit loads, whereas the former are known as secondary unit loads. Automatic palletizers are usually very advantageous for production lines or packaging. They increase the productivity of production processes and do away with human interference, which can lower the plant's rate of operation. Palletizers can readily recoup their investment costs thanks to the benefits that result from using them. Palletizers are automated devices, therefore their motions are pre-programmed and made to work without causing any damage to the product. Unlike humans, they are not required to make decisions all the time. They are therefore less likely to make mistakes, which leads to improved product handling. Furthermore, palletizers that are built correctly remove risks and hazards from manual labour in the workplace. Palletizing by hand presents risks of stumbling, falling, and crushing. The repetitive reaching and stacking of products also results in strains on the muscles. This may result in lower back pain and harm employees' health in the long run.
