RDS granted CE mark for MultiSense remote monitoring wearable
In the process of developing its MultiSense device, a remote patient monitoring tool, RDS has reached an important milestone. The wearable electronic patch, secure internet platform, and support services make up the device. Six physiological parameters, including skin temperature, heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation, patient activity, and body posture, can be remotely monitored by medical practitioners to the same level as a clinical monitoring system. The device comes as a ready-to-use kit and has undergone testing in six clinical trials. Healthcare practitioners can access patient monitoring data remotely with the MultiSense platform, a cloud interface. It has dashboards to visualise vital signs and alerts to spot circumstances that might call for taking therapeutic action. The tool facilitates a cutting-edge new organisational and technology strategy that is revolutionising treatment pathways, enabling post-operative patients to leave the hospital sooner and abiding by the guidelines of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS). The CE label, according to RDS CEO Eilie Lobel, is a crucial next step in selling the product in Europe.
