Introduction of Reach Stacker
There are numerous heavy-duty vehicles built to serve diverse industries, such as excavators, forklifts, trucks, cranes, and so on. A reach stacker is a truck that is used to move containers, semi-trailers, and loose products. Reach Stacker refers to an off-road truck-like cargo container handler that uses an overhead telescopic boom to reach over two or more cargo container stacks and lift the containers from the top.
Each stacker is built with a boom, a comfortable cabin, a chassis, a rotator, an engine, a hydraulic system, a combo attachment, and other features. The extended boom nose is a sort of accessory that allows the reach stacker to pick up containers that are below ground level with ease. Auxiliary components such as the steering system, cooling circuit, brake circuit, and spreader actuators are also required for the stacker to function.
A reach stacker is well-known for its speed, power, precision, low operational cost, efficiency, and other benefits. Reach stackers also provide flexibility, adaptability, higher stacking, user-friendliness, strength, safe operation, and storage capacity.
Some of the most common reach stackers include side loaders, pallet jacks, cranes, and turret trucks. It is used to stack, load, and unload containers in small or medium-sized ports that can convey a container over a short distance swiftly.
It is utilized in seaports, docks, yards, landside, and industrial enterprises using an Internal Combustion Engine as the major energy source. It also makes use of hybrid engines.
Containers are increasingly being used for marine transportation and industrial purposes, necessitating the purchase of container handling equipment such as reach stacker. Similarly, newer technologies are being installed in reach stackers. As a result, the market for reach stackers is expanding.
