Foresee Pharma to continue phase 3 trial of its drug to treat puberty disorder
The independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) has given Foresee Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical firm with offices in Taiwan and the US, a good safety review for its Casppian phase 3 registration study of Leuprolide injectable emulsion. Leuprolide (FP-001) 42 mg controlled release is being tested as part of an open-label, multicenter, multinational clinical trial to determine its effectiveness, safety, and pharmacokinetics in patients with central (Gonadotropin-Dependent) precocious puberty (CPP). Currently approved for the treatment of adult patients with advanced prostate cancer, Foresee's Leuprolide injectable emulsion, marketed under the brand name Camcevi, has shown positive efficacy and safety results with statistically significant treatment effects in adult male patients with advanced prostate cancer. It is estimated that this experiment will yield top-line results in 2025. Stakeholders in the CPP community may benefit from Foresee's Leuprolide 42 mg formulation (FP-001), which has the potential to become the only readily available Leuprolide 6-month long-acting injection on the market when dosed subcutaneously every six months. The company is concentrated on two main areas: its innovative long-acting injectable technology, called Stabilised Injectable Formulation (SIF), which targets specialty markets with drug products derived from it; and its groundbreaking preclinical and clinical first-in-class NCE programmes, which target rare and severe disease areas with high unmet needs. Professor Lars Lannfelt's discovery of the Arctic mutation in Alzheimer's disease served as the basis for BioArctic's development of the antibody Leqembi, which is currently approved in the US, China, and Japan. Applications for review have been submitted to other countries.
