Hypertherm Associates introduced a new single-piece cartridge consumable for HPRXD plasma systems
Hypertherm Associates, a manufacturer of industrial cutting products and software, today announced the release of a single-piece consumable cartridge and cutting torch for Hypertherm HPRXD plasma systems. The new HPR cartridge is designed for use with current HPRXD systems, and aside from the new torch, requires no changes to the system or system settings. Operators can replace both in seconds without the use of tools.

Introduction of the Plasma Cutting Machine Market
The plasma cutting machine uses ionized gas for cutting different materials such as stainless-steel, copper, aluminium, and other metals. Plasma cutting process includes use of an ionized gas heated to a certain temperature above 20,000 Celsius for melting materials. The gas is ejected under high pressure and melts the materials and removes the material from the cut. Tahe gas utilized for the plasma cutting includes argon, which offers stability, and have longer service life than other gases. The other gas used by the plasma cutting machine includes nitrogen, air, oxygen, hydrogen. The usage of these gases increases the speed and efficacy during cutting process, and offers resistance to oxidation, when combined with electrodes. The plasma cutting process is suitable for cutting parts with complex geometries.
The plasma cutting machines are available in two forms such as single flow and dual flow plasma cutting machines. single flow type includes conventional single flow plasma, this process uses a single gas such as air or nitrogen that produces and cools the plasma. Whereas, the dual flow plasma process utilizes two gases such as one for plasma, and one as a shield gas, in smaller systems (under 125 amps), compressed air is often used as both the plasma and shield gases. Dual gas unshielded systems have an exposed nozzle and should not be used for drag cutting. The dual flow process utilizes advanced shield technology that improves the cutting performance of plasma cutting machine.
