Spectrum Dynamics‘ VERITON-CT 400 SPECT/CT Scanner Installed at Gustave Roussy in France
A state-of-the-art digital SPECT/CT scanner from Spectrum Dynamics Medical, the VERITON-CT 400, has been installed at Gustave Roussy, one of the top cancer centers in France. With its 360° CZT 12-detector design, the 3D digital hybrid SPECT/CT scanner automatically approaches the patient's body to enhance patient scans and achieve imaging precision. Compared to non-digital scanning technology, the high-definition images demand a lower administered dose of radiopharmaceutical. In 3D hybrid mode, the scanner scans the entire body, yielding comprehensive data in a single scanning session. With fewer views required and shorter exam times, the procedure is less taxing on the patient. A hybrid scanner's imaging efficiency yields information on both pathology and physiology. Because the scan time is cut in half and fewer doses are required, the patient's comfort is greatly increased. Head of Gustave Roussy's nuclear medicine department, Prof. Desiree Deandreis, stated that the VERITON-CT will enable faster and better image acquisition, minimizing radiation exposure and enhancing patient care. In order to install the VERITON-CT 400 SPECT/CT scanner, Spectrum Dynamics has teamed up with Gustav Roussy. The scanner's advantages in terms of sensitivity, sophisticated reconstruction algorithms, and three-dimensional body coverage will help patients and physicians in applications related to SPECT theranostics.
