Peptide Synthesis Service market, by Type Under 75% The Under 75% segment Revenue (USD Million) will be USD 165.90 Million by 2028. Under 75% is generally lowest purity preparation between >50% and >70%. and are referred as “crude” or “desalted” peptides. A >70% pure peptide preparation may contain a mixture of peptides which closely resemble one another and generate the immune response for the antibody which may needed. The organic impurities remaining in the peptide preparation at this level may causes the unwanted effects in the animal or toxicity to some degree. The products at this purity level can be used for initial peptide screens. 75% to 95% These are mid-range peptide purities preparation which are useful for the production, purification and testing of antibodies. These are also use for the ELISAs, enzyme substrate studies, affinity purification, epitope mapping, bioassays or other immunological applications, and peptide screening. These are also used for semi-quantitative studies of enzyme-substrate interactions, phosphorylation, peptide blocking in Western blotting and cell attachment. Above 95% The higher levels of >90% to >98% purity is developed for particular applications. This level is the most expensive for the applications in the end user industry. Peptides purified to the >90% to >95% level are best for quantitative bioassays, quantitative in vitro receptor-ligand interaction studies, biological activity with ligand binding studies, quantitative blocking and competitive inhibition assays, quantitative phosphorylation and proteolysis studies, electrophoresis markers and chromatography standards. The highest level of >98% purity is reserved for in vivo studies, clinical trials, drug studies that use peptides as pharmaceuticals and structure-activity relationship studies. This level is suitable for examining protein structure by nuclear magnetic resonance studies or protein crystallography (though these latter three applications also can be accomplished using the >95% purity preparation).
