Accelsius has officially announced NeuCool, a two-phase cooling system optimised for two-phase direct-to-chip liquid cooling applications. The in-rack solution has a capacity exceeding 1,500 watts per server chip, making it appropriate for AI and other intense tasks. The NeuCool technology employs vaporators placed directly on specific hot-spot chips, with dielectric refrigerant running through them and condensing back into a liquid in a closed-loop system. The modular design enables incorporation into existing data centre facilities using water-cooled doors, dry coolers, or other heat rejection methods. Accelsius obtained the NeuCool technology from Nokia's Bell Labs and is already accepting orders.
Other benefits of liquid cooling include higher capacity than air cooling, providing the same cooling with a much larger volume, reduced overall capacity requirement due to applying high-power density components directly, and efficient heat rejection.
