Unveiling Roche Diagnostics India's Innovative Heart Failure Test for Diabetics
For the purpose of screening diabetic individuals at risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including heart failure (HF), Roche Diagnostics India has introduced the NT-proBNP point-of-care test. The biomarker is only compatible with the Cobas H 232 system and is intended to facilitate a quicker and more effective diagnosis and treatment of heart failure (HF) in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (T2D). With over 101 million people living with the disease in developing nations like India, diabetes is a major worldwide health concern. Significant morbidity and mortality are linked to diabetes; in fact, up to 46% of diabetic patients will acquire cardiovascular disease (CVD) at some point in their lives, which accounts for almost 50% of death in T2D patients. Furthermore, HF affects 30% of diabetes patients at some point in their lives, and people with T2D who also have HF have an up to eight times higher chance of dying than people without HF. The Cobas H 232 system's NT-proBNP test enables doctors to identify high-risk T2D patients and start treatment talks on time by facilitating early identification and intervention. A significant advancement in the treatment of diabetes is represented by the integration of the NT-proBNP test extension into easily accessible point-of-care systems. This allows for the early identification of heart failure risk in T2D patients, leading to better outcomes and increased patient satisfaction.
