IsDB joins efforts with WHO and development partners to promote health impact investment

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) today announced a significant grant allocation of US$ 10 million to WHO to execute the Health Impact Investment Platform (HIIP), as part of its commitment to the global initiative to strengthen primary health care and health systems resilience.
The HIIP is a ground-breaking partnership between WHO, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), and nations that require strong climate and health solutions. The investment in critical, climate- and crisis-resilient primary health care systems and services is the main goal of this effort. Its ultimate goal is to promote resilience against new health threats and climatic issues by strengthening the health system, particularly in low- and middle-income nations and underprivileged areas.
The IsDB grant of US$10 million will specifically help WHO's technical assistance to nations worldwide in determining their investment needs and creating the most effective health programs. The MDBs will use these projects as the basis for their co-investment, guaranteeing that funds are allocated to locations that have the best chance of producing favorable health results.
