Introduction of Fusidic Acid
Fusidic Acid is a bacteriostatic anti-biotic obtained from fungus Fusidium coccineum and used for topical medication to treat skin infections. Fusidic acid is effective in function on gram positive bacteria. The Fusidic acid works by inhibiting the protein synthesis by preventing the turnover elongation factor EF-G from ribosome. It is a steroidal antibiotic that is isolated form fermentation broth of Fusidium coccineum.
