Market Position/ History |
RSM US LLP traces its origins to 1926, when Ira B. McGladrey founded his own accounting firm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, initially named the I.B. McGladrey Company. Over the following decades, the firm expanded through mergers with other regional firms, changing names and extending its reach across the Midwest and the East Coast. In 1987, it became McGladrey & Pullen, a national firm serving clients across the U.S. After selling non-attest assets to H&R Block in 1999, the firm was renamed RSM McGladrey and reconnected with McGladrey & Pullen in 2011, forming a unified firm that provided audit, tax, and consulting services. In 2015, the firm adopted the name RSM US LLP, becoming part of the global RSM network, and continued to focus on serving the middle market. Since then, RSM has expanded its operations and services, including growing its presence in Canada, enhancing diversity and inclusion efforts, and increasing its commitment to community-focused initiatives. |
