Market Position/ History

The Port of Singapore Authority, a statutory board responsible for developing, managing, and marketing the Port of Singapore, was originally known as PSA. In 1996, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore assumed PSA's regulatory responsibilities. The Port of Singapore Authority eventually was taken over by PSA Corporation Limited, which was founded in 1997 with the purpose of managing and running container terminals and other companies for profit. PSA International Pte Ltd took over as the investment holding company for PSA's global network of companies in December 2003.
