Simon Ingersoll founded Ingersoll Rock Drill Company in 1871.

In 1905, the Ingersoll-Sergeant Drill Company merged with the Rand Drill Company to form Ingersoll Rand.

In 1952, the first oil-free screw compressor stage introduced at GHH.

In 1958, the oil-free SILU prototype was introduced.

In 2019, Gardner Denver combined with Ingersoll Rand’s Industrial Segment to expand flow creation and industrial technologies.
