Horizon Natural Food BV was founded in 1978 by pioneer and entrepreneur Gaston Smit. In 1985, Horizon Natural Food BV moved to the current business location in Ijssel stein. Things were going well. The company had grown into a BV with work for about 30 employees. In the summer of 2022, Gaston Smit sold his life's work to Koen Bouwman. Koen has years of experience in sourcing and selling organic nuts, seeds and dried fruits. The company have been purchasing the almonds from farmers' alliance Almendrera del Sur in Andalusia since 1998; because they can read and write with them, they now take care of all their sales in Europe. |

Horizon Natural Food BV is a producer of 100 % organic syrups, nut and seed butters. The company import the raw materials. The company’s production process of the nut and seed butters involves roasting, shelling or mixing, grinding and filling. The company fills the syrups and pastes in pots of 175, 250, 330, 350, 500 and 650 grams. The mechanical filling of organic syrups is a speciality in which the company have many years of experience. The company minimise the use of plastic. The syrups and pastes are filled in glass jars with tin lids; both materials are 100% recyclable. The package organic nuts, seeds and dried tropical fruits in-house. This process takes place in IJsselstein using specialised machines and is supervised by the staff. The packaging of nuts, seeds and dried tropical fruits varies from 50 grams to 25 kilos. The company offers its products under four brands such as:

- Monki
- Jori
- Krekeltje
The horizon brand includes dried fruits such as dried mango, apricots, apples, banana, cranberries, dates,papaya, and other dried fruits. The horizon brands offers nutbutters, nuts, salted nuts, syrups. The monks brand offers different types pf nutbuttersin almond, peanutbuttter, hazelnut, white tahini, and other. The jori brand offers pure peanut butter, pure peanut butter, a four-nut spread with peanut, cashew, hazelnut and almond.Krekeltje peanut butter is made from roasted, ground peanuts, a pinch of sea salt and a little palm oil as an emulsifier. Krekeltje peanut butter remains blended and is creamy right to the bottom of the jar. Krekeltje is available in 250- and 500-gram jars.

Store cool, dry and dark. Made in a company that processes peanuts, sesame and various types of nuts. These mango bars are naturally sweet and therefore an excellent snack. The mango comes from Burkina Faso, is dried and gluten-free.
