Random Packing

HAT manufactures a comprehensive range of AlphaPACK standard and high performance random packings as listed below.

Standard Types:

R+ Raschig Rings (Ceramic, Glass, Metal, Carbon, Plastic)
P+ Pall Rings (Ceramic, Metal, Plastic)
S+, S++ Saddles (Ceramic)

High Performance Types:

C+ Rings (Metal, Plastic)
I+ Rings (Metal)
L+, Q+, N+ Packings (Plastic)

The above packings are available in several sizes as indicated on design sheets to suit most commercial applications. They range in size from 6mm to 90mm or equivalent. It is an essentially a design consideration in specifying a packing size based on capacity and efficiency requirements.

Structured Packing

HAT’s AlphaPACK structured packing is formed from vertical sheets of corrugated metal with the angle of the corrugations reversed in adjacent sheets to form a very open structure with inclined flow channels. To simplify installation, it is delivered in pre-formed slabs or segments that are sized to fit through the vessel manways. A high surface area will only provide efficient mass transfer if it is effectively used to increase vapour-liquid contact and

The low resistance to vapour flow together with efficient use of available surface tends to give structured packings significant performance advantages over random packings in high vapour rate/low liquid rate systems.
