Market Position/ History

FTI Consulting, founded in 1982 by Dan Luczak and Joseph Reynolds as Forensic Technologies International, began as a provider of complex technical investigations and litigation services. The company gained a reputation for revolutionizing courtroom evidence presentation with computer models, enhancing jury comprehension. Over the years, FTI expanded its capabilities through strategic acquisitions, including the purchase of KPMG’s business recovery services practice in 2002 and the economic consulting firm Lexecon in 2003. By the late 2000s, FTI Consulting had established itself as a global leader in strategic consulting, with a growing presence in markets across the United States and internationally.

The company continued to diversify and expand through further acquisitions, such as the purchase of Financial Dynamics in 2006, which marked the launch of its Strategic Communications segment

The company’s strategic growth and focus on delivering industry-specialized consulting services, particularly in Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT), and restructuring, have made FTI Consulting a key player in the consulting and advisory industry globally.
