Product Description |
Clear Float Glass |
EFG Float Glass is manufactured as per the best industry standards under technology license from Vitro (formerly PPG USA). EFG Float Glass offers excellent optical properties, smooth surface finish, perfect flatness, and lowest thickness tolerances which make it a perfect product for end-users as well as downstream processors. Visible Light Transmission (VLT) - the percentage of visible light (380nm-780nm) that is transmitted through the glass. Reflection Out (Ro) & Reflection In. (Rin) - the percentage of incident visible light reflected by the glass outdoors and indoors respectively. Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) or Solar Factor (G-Value) - the percentage sum of incident solar radiation directly transmitted through the glass + re-emitted energy absorbed by the glass indoors. A glass with a high SHGC rating is more effective at collecting solar heat during the winter for a cold climate. A glass with a low SHGC rating is more effective at reducing cooling loads during the summer by blocking heat gain from the sun for a hot & dry climate Shading Coefficient (SC) - it is the ratio of solar heat gain (due to direct sunlight) passing through a glass unit to the solar energy which passes through 3mm clear float glass. it is calculated by dividing solar factor (G-Value) / 0.87 |
Tinted Float Glass |
To further expand the product range in the uncoated float glass, EFG offers heat absorbing tinted glasses in varying thickness. The unique tints offer improved solar control properties combined with significant reduction in UV transmission and glare from direct sunlight. EFG’s tinted glass range offer more options for Architects, Investors and for downstream processors with sputter coating facilities. Visible Light Transmission (VLT) - the percentage of visible light (380nm-780nm) that is transmitted through the glass. Reflection Out (Ro) & Reflection In. Float Glass finds its way through various secondary processing, such as; heat treatment, Lamination, and institution to Door, Window, and Glazing Applications both for the building and automotive industries, the value-added online coated glass with metal oxide coatings are primarily used for commercial and residential building applications to achieve lower solar heat gain, glare control and also to cut down harmful UV radiations into the interiors. Ever-increasing glass applications in interior design and architecture have also increased the demand for float glass in thicker and larger sizes to be used as glass partitions, frameless door streams, shower cubbies, glass balustrades and staircase railings. The applications have now moved further to glass ceilings, floorings and stair cases. Float glass allows great level of customization and flexibility through downstream processing that makes it a versatile building material. |
