ADV PINNACLE HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRAYS |
ADV Pinnacle High-Performance Trays have been installed in over five thousand columns that range in inner diameter from 28" to 402" [760 mm to 10200 mm]. Many versions of ADV [Floating] Valves or ADVF [Fixed] Valves are utilized based on process requirements to meet a range of design conditions. Trays can be made of materials including, but not limited to, SS-410S, SS-316, Titanium, Monel, Hastelloy, etc. as required. Retrofitting existing trays with AMT's patented high-performance trays has been field-proven to yield up to a 40% increase in throughput at comparable unit energy cost. Likewise, equipping new grass-roots towers with AMT ADV trays may allow over 20% higher capacity or up to 17% energy savings compared to the industry standard tray design. The high-performance ADV valve has been successfully operational in one pass trays, two pass trays, three pass trays, four pass trays, six pass trays, multi-pass trays (multi-downcomer trays), cartridge trays, and CD (Catalytic Distillation) trays The larger the fractionation column or distillation column diameter, the greater the advantages of the AMT ADV trays in terms of initial equipment cost, speedy field installation, ease of maintenance, and operating energy savings. However, it should be noted ADV cartridge trays have been successfully installed and are operational in columns as small as 20” [500mm]. ADV VALVE TRAY ADVANTAGES AMT ADV Pinnacle Performance Trays consist of a combination of various design features outlined below that allow for greater tray performance compared to the industry standard design. This in combination with its decades of design expertise allows companies to achieve the highest tray performance possible (i.e., capacity, efficiency, pressure drop, turn-down, and run-time) for customer application. AMT’s ADV Pinnacle Performance Tray series also includes the AMT ADV - MP High-Capacity Tray, an advanced multi-pass tray design. AMT ADV-MP Trays have been installed in columns with inner diameters up to 25' [7600 mm] and applied in PDH and LNG units successfully. Proprietary features of AMT ADV Pinnacle Performance Trays are utilized with a unique downcomer configuration to ensure the longest outlet weir length when compared to leading multi-downcomer trays. This ensures unmatched capacity and processing throughput. This enhanced tray can be designed with high-performance ADV [Floating] or ADVF [Fixed] Valves. AMT ADV -MP HIGH-CAPACITY TRAY DESIGN FEATURES After decades of experience, AMT wanted to improve the typical multi-pass and multi-downcomer trays implemented by the leaders of the industry. To eliminate the inherent problems associated with multi-pass trays, AMT developed a radically different version of the multi-pass tray, the "ADV-MP High-Capacity Tray”, to optimize tray performance. The key advantage of the ADV -MP Tray is its unique way of arranging downcomers as shown below. The AMT ADV-MP Trays form an inter-connected (lattice-like) downcomer assembly. Similar to conventional multi-pass trays the AMT ADV-MP Trays are also rotated 90° from the adjacent trays. While having about the same total downcomer area and weir length as a conventional multi-pass tray, the AMT ADV-MP Trays discharge liquid in the center of the active area of the tray below to facilitate a radial liquid pattern. By using proprietary technology on the tray, a nearly perfect radial liquid flow pattern and uniform liquid flow distribution (with no stagnant liquid pools) in the active areas can be achieved. In addition, the linked downcomer assembly passively balances liquid and froth levels across the entire tray, further improving distribution. High-performance fixed or floating ADV (Advanced Dispersion Valves) are applied to ADV-MP Trays. ADV-MP Trays are an ideal choice for high liquid rate applications, e.g., Absorbers, Depropanizers, and Ethylene/Propylene Splitters. |
