Nestlé’s Nespresso moves beyond coffee for the first time with honey
With the introduction of honey, Nestlé's Nespresso is expanding outside its iconic coffee platform for the first time in its almost 40-year existence. Under the Nespresso Bloom brand, the multinational behemoth in food and beverage is launching honey and honey syrup. The product is produced by the same bees that pollinate Colombian coffee bushes, which provide some of the beans used in Nespresso. With more regenerative agriculture techniques integrated into its operations, the company can further emphasize sustainability thanks to honey.
The product will not only support Nespresso's ecological initiatives but will also allow the company to take advantage of a rising coffee trend among consumers: the use of honey as a sweetener. The usage of honey has increased because of its reputation as a superfood, even though it has decreased during the past two years. In 2021, the average individual devoured a record-breaking 1.9 pounds. Nestlé stated that the Nespresso Bloom honey is perfect for waffles, macchiatos, espresso martinis, and pastries in addition to coffee. The honey syrup is thought to be best used with yogurt, whipped ricotta, and pastries. According to reports, the items taste flowery with hints of caramel and vanilla.
