Cocoa butter is a light yellow, edible vegetable fat derived from cocoa beans that have a faint chocolate flavour and scent and is used in the production of chocolate (including white chocolate), medicinal items, and cosmetics.
Cocoa butter is made from cocoa beans, which are the fatty seeds of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao). Cocoa butter has distinct qualities due to its fatty acid makeup, which includes palmitic acid, stearic acid, and oleic acid, with a tiny amount of linoleic acid. This relatively basic fatty acid profile results in triacylglycerols, which are composed of three fatty acids and one glycerol molecule. Because of its antioxidant characteristics, cocoa butter has a shelf life of two to five years, and when mixed with other fats, it can boost the stability of those fats. It also includes oleic acid, vitamin E, vitamin K, and choline, all of which are beneficial nutrients.
