Ceramic proppant is a high-strength, spherical particle primarily used in the hydraulic fracturing process within the oil and gas industry. Manufactured from sintered bauxite, kaolin, or a blend of both, ceramic proppants are designed to keep fractures open in subterranean formations, allowing for the efficient extraction of hydrocarbons. Their uniform size and shape, combined with their high crush resistance, enhance conductivity and improve the flow of oil and gas. Compared to sand-based proppants, ceramic proppants offer superior performance in terms of strength, permeability, and thermal stability, making them suitable for high-stress, high-pressure reservoir conditions.
