Introduction of Cashew Nut Market

Cashew nuts are kidney-shaped seeds that grow on the bottom of the pseudocarp, commonly named cashew apple. Pseudocarp or cashew apple is considered the false fruit as the actual fruit is the kidney-shaped cashew which is developed at the bottom. This cashew apple can be consumed when fresh, cooked in curries, or fermented into vinegar, citric acid, or an alcoholic drink. This has led to an increase in the demand for cashew nuts. For instance, in 2021, approximately 965.5 thousand metric tons of cashew nuts were consumed worldwide.
