Introduction of the Aqua Feed Market

Any feed used to nourish aquatic animals farmed for food as part of aquaculture is referred to as aquafeed. Both farmed and wild fish require a well-balanced combination of essential nutrients, including vitamins, fatty acids, and amino acids, for optimum growth. Certain lipids, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids—the building blocks of protein—are all present in aquafeed. These come from a range of ingredients in the feed, including as plants, animal trimmings, fishmeal, and fish oil. Vitamins, antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, acidifiers, and binders in dry, wet, and moist forms are the primary components of aquafeed. These goods are sold online, through wholesalers, supermarkets, hypermarkets, direct sales, and indirect sales, among other channels. Aquaculture production is expected to increase due to rising seafood consumption and consumer expenditure on fish and fish products including fish oil, fish meal, and fish silage.

In February 2024, Skretting, a well-known aquafeed manufacturer with headquarters in Norway, recently opened a brand-new production plant in Surat, India. Three production lines and cutting-edge technology are reportedly included in the new facility, which should have an annual output capacity of about 50,000 metric tons.
