Emcure launches initiative to help women assess anemia risk with self-test
The 'Unmask Anemia' campaign, initiated by Emcure Pharmaceuticals, aims to increase awareness about iron deficiency anemia in India. The effort seeks to enhance the condition's identification and care for women nationwide. Twinkle Khanna, the actress-turned-author and supporter of women's rights, has published a video message urging women to visit the Unmask Anemia website and complete the self-test. The campaign implores Indian women to get checked for anemia risk and to cease disregarding iron deficiency symptoms. One of the most frequent causes of anemia is iron deficiency; Indian women are the most likely in the world to experience this condition. According to the most recent National Family Health Survey, up to 57% of women in the nation between the ages of 15 and 49 have anemia. By emphasizing common signs and symptoms of iron deficiency anemia, the online self-test seeks to streamline the process of determining one's risk for the condition. For many years, Emcure Pharmaceuticals has been addressing the iron deficiency in women. The initiative's goals are to raise awareness and improve anemia screening, diagnosis, and treatment. The initiative is a supplement to the Anemia Mukt Bharat mission of the Indian government. The President of FOGSI, Dr. Jaydeep Tank, feels that raising awareness, promptly taking iron supplements, and screening women of all ages can have a significant impact.
