•    Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has invested $1.44 billion in a new plant at its air conditioning production base in Turkey, MACT. The expansion will increase the annual capacity for air-to-water (ATW) heat pumps to 300,000 units and room air conditioners to 1,100,000 units, up by 300,000 units. Production is expected to begin in February 2024. Mitsubishi Electric is expanding its global Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) business through an expansion strategy through 2025, focusing on the European heating-system market. The plant will implement eco-friendly CO2-emission reduction measures, including enhanced thermal insulation, exhaust-air heat recovery, and effective use of renewable energy. MACT, located in Manisa, Turkey, has a site area of approximately 60,000 square meters and a floor area of approximately 40,000 square meters. Mitsubishi Electric is a leader in eco-friendly technology, with its Outlander PHEV being one of the few small SUVs that can run on electric power without being fully electric.
