According to Cognitive Market Research, organic hemp seed oil accounts for XX% market share in 2024. Organic hemp seed oil is organic, cold-pressed, and non-GMO. They are extracted sustainably to maintain the magnificent properties that benefit the skin, hair, and food. It is a natural, whole food product extracted cold without any use of chemicals, preservatives or additives and it is flushed with nitrogen gas. (Hemp_Seed_Oil.pdf) It is light and non-greasy which works for all skin types, from dry to oily. It moderates the production of oil in the skin. Cold pressed, unrefined, organic hemp seed oil is dark to clear light green in color, with a nutty flavor. If the color is darker, the flavor will be grassier. Organic hemp oil is low in saturated fat and rich in polyunsaturated fat in relation to other oils. It has a low smoke point and is not suitable for high temperatures like frying. It is primarily used as a food oil and dietary supplement. According to Cognitive Market Research, Conventional Hemp Seed oil accounted for XX% in 2024. Conventional hemp seed oil is extracted from hemp seeds that were grown using traditional farming methods. Hemp has been cultivated for thousands of years. It's very convenient to grow and is highly sustainable because it helps to clear out the soil of weeds and provides food and shelter for the wildlife. However, conventional hemp seed oil might be extracted from hemp plants that were cultivated using pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides. This type of oil is usually cold-pressed, however, it might not be certified organic.

Hemp seed oil is obtained from the seeds of the hemp plant. Hemp plant or industrial hemp, is a plant in the botanical class of Cannabis sativa cultivars. It is grown specifically for industrial and consumption purposes. Its application extends to a wide range of products like paper, rope, textiles, clothing, animal feed, and many others. Hemp is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth. Furthermore, it was also one of the first plants to be used as a usable fiber 50,000 years ago. Hemp seed oil is extracted by cold-pressing the hemp seeds. The hemp seeds provide several health benefits, from its high content of three polyunsaturated fatty acids, that are, linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, and gamma-linolenic acid. Additionally, its ratio of omega-6 (linoleic acid) to omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) fatty acids is 3:1 which is ideal for health benefits in humans, according to the experts. They have antioxidant effects due to which they may reduce symptoms of many ailments, thus, improving the health of the heart, skin, and joints.
Hemp seed oil is rich in PUFA. Hence, it is prone to oxidation if it is not handled properly. However, keeping it away from light and high temperatures will maintain the good quality of hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is not a good option for high-temperature applications like cooking and frying. Thus, it is best to consume hemp seed oil containing cold formulations, like salad dressing. Historically, soup, porridge, and gruels made with hemp seed flour were some of the dishes widely consumed in times of famine. Hemp seeds also were used to treat stomach or ear pain, coughing, and incontinence. Currently, most of the products can be categorized as specialty rather than commodity products. Protein powders, specialty oils, energy bars, and drinks, hemp milk, and butter are some of the popular edible products.
The hemp seed oil market consumers are increasingly becoming aware of the numerous health benefits of the products, which are highly being utilized in products such as supplements, sauces, and others, which is further expected to drive the industry growth in the coming years.
