Business Segment/ Overview:
RVT Process Equipment GmbH is a manufacturer of components for mass and heat transfer processes for chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and environmental applications. The company’s US portfolio is organized into seven segments including random packing, structured packing, column internals, mist eliminators, mass transfer trays, biological carrier media, and catalyst bed support.

Product Description |
Hiflow Ring |
The Hiflow rings are high-performance tower packings. The strong lattice shape provides high mechanical stability along with a very high void fraction. The low weight and the mechanical stability enable us to use increased packed bed heights without intermediate packing supports. High-capacity gas and liquid flow rates, extremely low-pressure drop, very low wall flow, and low sensitivity to fouling characterize the Hiflow rings. As a replacement to conventional tower packing, Hiflow rings allow increased flow rates and reduced energy consumption in existing columns. |
Raflux Ring |
Raflux rings (or Pall rings) are industry-standard tower packings. The open structure ensures a regular flow through the packing while keeping the pressure drop low. Raflux rings are made of ceramics, plastics, and metals. Raflux rings made from plastic or metal allow high gas velocities combined with good separation efficiency. |
RMXR Ring |
The RMXR is the latest development by RVT ‘s random packing engineering team. It is a patented ring for high-performance purposes, exceeding 2nd or 3rd generation rings by up to 25% increased capacity. It can be used as a replacement or first choice for nearly all metal random packing applications. Using the RMXR allows us to reduce the diameter for new columns at the same capacity or keep the diameter for existing and new columns and increase their capacity. All of this can lead to a significant reduction in energy consumption. Available types are the RMXR #2 and #4. Please get in touch with its technical department for recommendations regarding the appropriate type and quantity. |
HiDur Inert Balls |
Ceramic balls are designed for a range of applications but are normally used as catalyst carriers and flow straighteners. With excellent crush strength and thermal shock resistance, RVT ceramic balls are ideal for processes such as claus reactors, reformers, hydrocrackers, hydrotreaters, dryers, and more. |
Structured Tower Packing |
In addition to random tower packings and mass transfer trays, RVT also manufactures structured packings that are used in the field of mass and heat transfer processes. RVT Process Equipment provides a broad range of innovative and conventional structured packings in both metallic and thermoplastic materials for different applications. Structured packings are generally available in a conventional (N) and a high-capacity (S, SP) packing geometry. Standard Packing (N-Type)
High Performance Packing (S, SP-Type)

Movable Valve Trays |
Movable valve trays are the most commonly used type of tray. They are characterized by high capacity and separation efficiency, which is realized over a large variety of mass transfer applications. A3 Valve Caged valve with moving valve disk and sharp-edged orifices in tray plates.
In order to prevent the liquid from flowing through the tray deck under insufficient steam load, hinged lids are attached to the holes. These lids are pushed upwards at sufficient steam load in the column by the pressure of the steam and the steam can flow through the holes and the liquid. The pressure of the steam then prevents the liquid from flowing through the holes. If the steam load decreases, then the hinged lids close and thus prevent drainage of the liquid. A4 Valve A variation of the A3 caged valve provides lower pressure drop by utilizing a venturi-shaped orifice in the tray deck.
