Airlaid Paper Market, By Type Multi bond The Multi bond Market Size will be USD 505.61 Million by 2028. Multi bond Airlaid paper is composed of two or more bonds. Thermal bond, and latex bonds are the bonds, which finds its application in the processing and development of the multiband. The web is thermally bonded and a light application of latex is sprayed on both sides of the web to reduce the lint that is released in high-speed converting operations. Thermal bond The thermal bond web is formed using synthetic and organic (fluff pulp) fibers. Thermal energy is applied to the web that are used for binding of the synthetic fibers to bind with each other. The thermal bonds are formed by compacting the web, which further transported into an oven, thereby leading to the melting of the fibers to the point where they fuse together, bonding the various components of the web. The thermal bond is used in the processing and development of several products. Latex bond Latex bonds are formed by using liquid binders. The liquid binder, such as latex is sprayed on both sides of the web to bind the fibers together. The excess moisture is then dried and the latex is cured in the drying section. Hydrogen bond The cellulose fibers are used to process the hydrogen bonds. The naturally occurring moisture contained in the fibers is removed while the fibers are in close contact. Generally, bonding is accomplished under conditions of high temperature and pressure. This process eliminates the need for synthetic binders to be added to the air-laid web. Moisture (H2O) & high-pressure calendaring and water needling (spun lacing) are used in the processing and manufacturing of hydrogen bonds.

Introduction of Airlaid Paper
Air-laid paper is a nonwoven fabric made from fluff pulp. It is a textile-like material that is very bulky, porous, and soft. It has relatively good water absorption properties and is much stronger compared with normal tissue. Further, it is non-linting, strong, and can be rinsed and reused. As the name suggests, the air-laid paper carries fibers by air.
The raw material is long-fibered softwood fluff pulp in roll form. The pulp is fiberized in a hammermill. The process uses a defibration process. An air-laid paper consists of about 85% fiber. A binder must be applied as a spray or foam. Alternatively, additional fibers or powders can be added to the pulp which can then be activated and cured by heat.
The physical characteristics of air-laid nonwovens make them suitable for various disposable absorbent applications in consumer, industrial, and institutional markets.
The air-laid paper can be categorized as multi-bond, thermal bond, latex bond, and hydrogen bond. It is widely used for feminine hygiene, consumer wipes, adult incontinence, industrial wipes, tabletop, food pads, and others.
